Salesian Bishop George Pallipparambil was born on May 10, 1954, in Thattarathatta in Kerala state. He was ordained priest on Dec. 19, 1982. He was appointed the first bishop of Miao on Dec. 7, 2005, and was ordained on Feb. 26, 2006. Before becoming a prelate, Bishop Pallipparambil was the rector of Don Bosco School in Dibrugarh, Assam. He is presently the chairman of the North-East Regional Commission for Evangelization.
