Bishop Paul Maipan was born on Feb. 28, 1944, in Manickamangalam, Kerala. He was ordained priest on Jan. 9, 1971, and appointed bishop of Khammam on May 30, 1997. His episcopal ordination was on Aug. 22, 1997. Bishop Paul Maipan was a parish priest of Seethamathara in Visakhapatnam diocese and diocesan consultor before his appointment as the diocesan prelate. He is the Andhra Pradesh Bishops' Council regional chairman for laity commission and women's desk.
