Bishop Mar Joseph Pamplany was appointed Archbishop of the Archeparchy of Tellicherry on Jan. 15, 2022.

Mar Pamplany was born on Dec. 3, 1969, and was ordained priest on Dec 30, 1997. He was the auxiliary bishop of the Archeparchy of Tellicherry since Nov. 8, 2017. His appointment is following the retirement of present Archbishop Mar George Njaralakkatt.

Mar Pamplany also worked the bible apostolate director in Tellicherry and is the founder of Alpha institute. He has served as visiting professor at seminaries in Thiruvananthapuram, Aluva, Vadavathoor, Kunnoth and Bengaluru.
